Ozone destructors are essential devices designed to safely and efficiently remove excess ozone gas from the air, converting it back into harmless oxygen. These devices play a crucial role in various applications where high ozone concentrations can pose risks to humans, animals, and the environment. By utilizing a catalytic material, ozone destructors break down ozone molecules into oxygen, ensuring a safe and effective ozone destruction process. T
Ozone off-gas can be treated with an ozone destructor, which converts ozone into oxygen rapidly and without emitting any toxic gases, such as carbon monoxide or carbon dioxide. All ozone destructors are complete with catalytic materials and quick coupling.
Either end will function as the inlet or outlet. The AOD’s exit can be left open to the atmosphere or piped to an outside area away from personnel. When operated at its rated flow or below, the AOD is designed to have a maximum of 0.01 ppm ozone concentration at its exit. Be sure that the ozone flow rate does not exceed the specifications for the unit. If the flow rate is too high, complete ozone destruction will not occur.
If the catalyst becomes wet, such as when process water accidentally flows into the unit, or water vapour condenses on it, it should be replaced. The ozone destruction efficiency might be reduced due to the possible contamination of the moisture and/ or water.
If the desiccant inside the ozone destruct unit requires replacement, Absolute Ozone can provide a new desiccant. By removing the fitting(s) from one end of the product, the old desiccant can be poured out and replaced with new media.
